LAS VEGAS — Last night was CES Unveiled, the "official" preview event before the Consumer Electronics Show press day, which is before the official opening of CES ... but after CES Unveiled New York, which happened two months ago. This is the place where journalists go to get an advance peek at products which will be making news all next week ... but might have already made news when they were first unveiled at the first CES Unveiled in New York.

Anyway, even though we were thoroughly confused about what was really being "unveiled" here, we did see an awful lot of stuff: new robots, remote controlled beer coolers, haptic phones, tingling chairs and laptops for both the rich and poor. Some of it we’ve seen before, but here are a few items we hadn’t.

Okay, I am SOLD on the modular cabling system. I'm looking at upgrading my projector and the prospect of running DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort and other cables is not fun. What a great product!

The beer cooler thing looks sweet!! I wouldn't mind that. Also I don't know why the fire and flood proof harddrives were there.. that idea is soooo old. Oh and the sound quality on that video was poor.
