We all know we’re supposed to recycle—yet only 45 percent of aluminum cans get processed back into raw material, along with 34 percent of plastic soda bottles and 25 percent of glass bottles. The Ecopod e1 aims to make recycling more convenient, with a pedal-powered compactor and removable storage for 50 to 60 crushed cans and bottles. The sleek design by BMW Designworks costs more than $300. But hey, that’s cheap for a BMW.
